My thoughts on the Slogan and Pin designing

The pin can carry a symbol of the Earth, Sun and a Flower or little Star to denote joy. Once the basic design of the pin or its form is ready, we can enhance or modify the text accordingly.

The earth is symbolic of being humble. In other words, it suggests being grounded in reality and also being close to one’s roots. Characterized by its resilience and perseverance in the face of every adversity, the symbol of the Earth denotes a diligence and deference that needs to be practiced by one and all. Likewise, it is important to imbibe earthy candor and to be rational and realistic whilst propagating honest humility.

Whilst being grounded, practical and realistic one is empowered with a vision that is sublime and eternal. A vision that can scale continents and span galaxies. A vision that draws energy and inspiration from the sun that is the Life Force. A vision that is steeped in reality and has the ability to encompass the broad spectrum of Spiritual, Personal and Collective growth of an ethos that runs in our veins. A vision that helps one see, until and beyond. A vision that is viable. A vision that is valiant. A vision that is virtuous.

Committed to the all round growth and nurturing of a forum the evolution of which has been sure footed and spectacular, every Lion wholeheartedly concedes is also that all those in the field of Service are in fact appointees of the heavens and are an extended arm of God, here to do HIS work, to carry forward HIS mission to help HIS children. With this comes infinite JOY that though boundaries may divide us, they can never decimate us, because after all we are children of the same God. One is therefore fuelled by the forces of strength, humility, wisdom and the readiness to learn.

The Lions District Slogan for year 2011-2012 is an amalgamation of a thought process that is born out of a passion for SERVICE, imprinted on a canvas of HUMILITY, using a paintbrush of VISION and spattered with colors of JOY.
